Birth & early life

Enlistment

Enlisted November 1851, no enlistment details known.

Service

Embarked for the Crimea on the 4th of September 1855 and arrived in the Crimea at Balaclava as part of a draft of 50 men under the command of Lt. Robert MacNeill, on the 29th of September 1855. Served in Eupatoria.

Transferred to the 17th Lancers at Newbridge on the 10th of September 1857. Regimental No. 104.

Embarked for India from Cork aboard the S.S. "Great Britain" on the 8th of October 1857.

He was returned to England as "insane" and discharged on the 21st of June 1864.

Medals

Entitled to Crimean medal without clasp and the Turkish Medal.

Mutiny medal without clasp

Not recorded by Lummis and Wynn.
