Birth & early life

Born at Crickhowell, Brecon.

Enlistment

Enlisted at London on the 11th of April 1845.

Age: 20.

Height: 5' 7".

Trade: Plasterer.

Service

Sent to Scutari on the 20th of September 1854 and rejoined the regiment in the Crimea on the 15th of May 1855.

Sent to Scutari again on the 20th of August 1855 and is shown on a nominal roll of officers and men of the regiment at the Cavalry Depot, Scutari, made out on the 9th of November 1855 as being On Duty there from the 27th of August.

Discharge & pension

Discharged "by purchase" from Cahir, Ireland, on the 19th of September 1856. Payment of £30.

Served 10 years 121 days.

Conduct: "good."

In possession of two Good Conduct badges.

Medals & commemorations

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol and the Turkish medal.

Not recorded by Lummis and Wynn.
