Birth & early life

Born at Leighton Buzzard.

Enlistment

Enlisted at London on the 14th of October 1843.

Age: 19.

Height: 5' 7".

Trade: Labourer.

Service

Sent to Scutari on the 18th of December 1854 and rejoined the regiment on the 11th of May 1855.

Tried by a Regimental Court-martial on the 1st of April 1856 for "being drunk and violence to a superior". Sentenced to 42 days' imprisonment with hard labour, of which 14 days were remitted.

Deserted "off furlo" on the 9th of March 1857.

Can find no further trace to 1879.

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasps for Alma, Sebastopol and the Turkish medal.
