Born in London.

Enlistment

Enlisted at Liverpool on the 13th of July 1854.

Age: 21.

Height: 5' 6".

Trade: Carpenter.

Service

Joined the regiment in the Crimea on the 1st of August 1855.

Transferred to the 3rd Dragoon Guards on the 28th of February 1857. Regimental No. 278.

Joined the Canterbury Depot from India on the 22nd of December 1866.

Discharge & pension

Discharged, "time expired", from Canterbury on the 24th of June 1867.

Named as "Henry Young" on discharge.

Medals

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol and the Turkish medal.

Not recorded by Lummis and Wynn.

1881 Census

3, Nottingham Place, St. Marylebone, London.

The 1881 Census shows a "Henry Young", aged 48, a Domestic Servant, born in London, one of three Domestic Servants in the house of Charles Bayer, a Stay Manufacturer.
