In an interview given to the Leamington Courier on the 26th of June 1897, Seth Bond of the 11th recalled:
"A man named Allerad [sic], who was riding on my left, fell from his horse like a stone. I looked back and saw the poor fellow lying on his back, his right temple being cut away, and his brain lying partly on the ground."

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasps for Alma, Balaclava and Sebastopol.
Killed in action at Balaclava.
