Birth & early life

Born in Middlesex c.1832.

Enlistment

Enlisted at Hounslow on the 31st of March 1846.

Age: 14.

Height: 4' 6".

Trade: None.

He had been brought to the Regimental H.Q. by Lieut. Colonel William Parlby.

Service

Attained the age of 15 years and on to "Man's pay" on the 1st of April 1847.

In the "Black Hole" [PB?], 1st-2nd of June 1854.

In "Barrack Cells", 5th-18th of March 1864.

Discharge & pension

Discharged, "by indulgence, after 17 years' service", from Edinburgh on the 9th of September 1866.

To live in London.

Medals

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasps for Alma, Balaclava, Inkerman and Sebastopol.
