Wounded and taken prisoner of war at Balaclava.
There is no record of his ever having returned to the Regiment in October of 1855 with the other prisoners-of-war in Russian hands.
Can find no further trace to 1879.
Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasps for Alma, Balaclava, and Sebastopol, and the Turkish medal.
