Birth & early life

Enlistment

Enlisted at London on the 6th of January 1854.

Age: 18.

Height: 5' 8".

Trade: None shown.

Service

At Scutari General Depot from the 14th of September 1854 and sent to rejoin the regiment on the 10th of November.

Embarked for India from Cork aboard the S.S. "Great Britain" on the 8th of October 1857.

The July-September 1858 muster rolls show him as being "On detachment at Shoolapoor" during this period.

In action against the rebels at Zerapore on the 29th of December 1858 and at Baroda on the 1st of January 1859.

Died at Secunderbad, India, on the 11th of December 1860.

The India Office records show him as having died from "Hepatitis" at Secunderbad on the 11th of December 1860, aged 26 years. He was buried on the same day by the Revd. F. Barbero, Chaplain.

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol, and the Turkish medal.
