Birth & early life

Born in Worcester.

Enlistment

Enlisted at Woodstock on the 2nd of January 1855.

Age: 18.

Height: 5' 6".

Trade: Stamper.

Service

Joined the regiment in the Crimea on the 14th of June 1855.

Transferred to the 7th Hussars at Aldershot on the 1st of August 1857.

Regimental No. 94.

Died in India on the 18th of December 1858.

Medals & commemorations

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol.

Mutiny medal with clasp for Lucknow,

Served in the field in Oude, East Indies, from the 4th of February — 14th of May 1858 and including the siege of Lucknow, 1-16 of March 1858.

Not recorded by Lummis and Wynn.

Further information

Died at Sultanapore, India.

The Regimental Casualty Returns for the period show, "No small-book forth-coming for details of next-of-kin, etc." He left no will, his credits being £2/13/5d.
