Enlisted at Woodstock on the 20th of January 1855.

Age: 22.

Height: 5' 9".

Trade: Apothecary.

Service

Joined the regiment in the Crimea on the 14th of June 1855.

Discharge & pension

Discharged, "by purchase", from Brighton on the 24th of November 1856. Payment of £30.

Served 1 year 308 days.

Conduct: "good". Not in possession of any Good Conduct badges.

Medals & commemorations

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol.

Not recorded by Lummis and Wynn.

Further information

His Crimean medal, clasp for Sebastopol and with impressed naming to "H. Brierley. 4th Lt. Dragns." and Turkish Crimea, Sardinian issue, was offered in a Spink auction on the 23rd of September 1993.

This pair of medals was known to be in an English collection in 1995.
