Birth & early life

Born in Salisbury, Wiltshire.

Enlistment

Enlisted at London on the 18th of May 1849.

Age: 19.

Height: 5' 8".

Trade: Cabinet-maker.

Sent to Scutari on the 16th of January 1855 and rejoined the regiment on the 21st of May 1855.

"Absent" from the 2-4 of January and sentenced by a Regimental Court-martial to 10 days imprisonment.

Discharge & pension

Discharged, "time expired", from Cahir on the 26th of September 1861.

In Turkey and the Crimea: 1 year 10 months.

Conduct: "good".

In possession of one Good Conduct badge. Once tried by Court-martial

Medals

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasps for Alma, Inkerman and Sebastopol.
