Enlisted into the 15th Hussars at Maidstone on the 13th of June 1851. Regimental No. 1675.

Embarked for India on the 28th of May 1852.

Transferred to the 8th Hussars on the 1st of November 1854.

Joined the regiment in the Crimea on the 29th of April 1855.

Enbarked from Cork aboard the S.S. "Great Britain" on the 8th of October 1857.

From Private to Corporal: 1st of November 1859.

Reduced to Private by a Regimental Court-martial on the 2nd of May 1861.

Discharge & pension

Discharged, "time expired", from Brighton on the 28th of March 1864.

Served 12 years 301 days.

Conduct: "good".

In possession of one G.C badge.

Medals & commemorations

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol.

Mutiny medal with clasp for Central India.

Served at Kotah and Gwalior.
