Embarked for the Crimea aboard the H.T. "Wilson Kennedy" on the 2nd of May 1854.
At Scutari General Hospital from the 22nd of January 1855 and sent to rejoin the regiment on the 11th of May.
Sent to the Depot when the regiment went to India, being at Canterbury from the 1st of October 1857.
Discharged from Dublin on the 25th of April 1871.
"Free to pension, having completed 24 years' service."
Served 26 years 16 days. In Turkey and the Crimea 2 years.
Conduct: "very good".
In possession of six Good Conduct badges.
Three times entered in the Regimental Defaulters' book. Never tried by Court-martial.
Documents confirm the award of the Crimean medal with clasps for A. I. and S., the Turkish Medal and the Long Service medal.
Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasps for Alma, Inkerman and Sebastopol.
Awarded the L. S & Good Conduct medal on the 17th of July 1866 with a gratuity of £5.
To live at Louth House, Balbriggan, after discharge, but he was living in the South London Pension District in 1875.
