Birth & early life

Enlistment

Enlisted at London on the 6th of November 1854.

Age: 21.

Height: 5' 7".

Service

Embarked for the Crimea on the 4th of September 1855 and arrived in the Crimea at Balaclava as part of a draft of 50 men under the command of Lt. Robert MacNeill, on the 29th of September 1855.

Did not serve in Eupatoria.

He is shown as being in Hospital at Scutari from the 24th of October 1855.

From Private to Corporal: 7th of October 1861.

Sent to the Canterbury Cavalry Depot on the 11th of September 1867 on the regiment's going to Canada.

Discharge & pension

Discharged on the 6th of December 1867.

Medals & commemorations

Entitled to Crimean medal without clasp and the Turkish Medal.

Not recorded by Lummis and Wynn.
