Joined the regiment in the Crimea on the 14th of June 1855.

From Private to Corporal: 1st of July 1859.

Confined, tried by a Regimental Court-martial and reduced to Private, 3rd of February 1863.

Discharge & pension

Discharged, "time expired", from Edinburgh on the 11th of January 1867.

Medals & commemorations

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol.

Not recorded by Lummis and Wynn.

Life after service

1881 Census

159 Gloucester Street, Cirencester, Gloucestershire.

A man of this name is shown in the 1881 Census Returns as a Rural Postman, aged 44, born at Cirencester, living with his wife, Sarah, 30, born at Oaksey, Wiltshire. No children are shown.
