Birth & early life

Born at Thromal, Ireland.

Enlistment

Enlisted at Cahir on the 4th of November 1846.

Age: 18.

Height: 5' 8".

Trade: Labourer.

Service

Embarked for the Crimea aboard the H.T. "Mary Anne" on the 19th of April 1854.

From Private to Corporal: 21st of August 1854.

At Scutari General Depot from the 15th of January 1855.

Reduced to Private by a Regimental Court-martial on the 30th of January 1855.

Invalided from Scutari to England on the 15th of February 1855.

Died at Portsmouth on the 16th of April 1855. No other details are shown, but there was an Invalid Depot at Portsmouth at this time and he most probably died there.

He left no will, his credits being £1/2/11d.

Medals & commemorations

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasps for Alma, Inkerman and Sebastopol.
