Birth & early life

Born at Somerton, near Dublin.

Enlistment

Enlisted at Newbridge on the 28th of April 1849.

Age: 21.

Height: 5' 7".

Trade: Chemist and druggist.

Service

In the "Black Hole": 28th-29th of April 1853.

Service

Embarked for the Crimea aboard the H.T. "Echunga" on the 15th of April 1854.

At the General Depot at Scutari from the 9th of June 1854 and sent to rejoin the regiment at Varna on the 13th of June 1854.

Sent to Scutari on the 26th of October 1854 and rejoined the regiment on the 14th of December.

Death & burial

On the Scutari General Hospital muster rolls again from the 2nd of February 1855, but entered in the muster roll there is the word "Dead", with no qualifying date, yet the Regimental Muster rolls show him as "Died at Scutari on the 1st of February 1855."

Medals & commemorations

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasps for Alma and Sebastopol, the medal roll again showing only the word, "Dead."
