Birth & early life

Born at Exeter, Devonshire, and baptised in the church of St. Francis the Apostle on the 11th of July 1834, the son of James and Frances Frost. His father had married Frances Frost at the church of St. Mary Steps, Exeter, on the 1st of February 1829.

Enlistment

Enlisted at Cork on the 1st of December 1854.

Age: 20.

Height: 5' 6".

Trade: Gardener.

Service

Discharge & pension

Discharged, "by purchase", from Dublin on the 19th of June 1857 upon payment of £30.

Served 2 years 200 days.

Conduct: "good".

Not in possession of any Good Conduct badges.

Medals

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol, and the Turkish medal.
