Birth & early life

Born at Bath, Somerset, c.1834.

Enlistment

Enlisted at Cork on the 28th of November 1854.

Age: 20.

Height: 5' 6".

Trade: Labourer.

Service

Joined the regiment in the Crimea on the 16th of July 1855.

Embarked for India from Cork aboard the S.S. "Great Britain" on the 8th of October 1857.

The musters for July-September of 1858 show him as being "On Field Service" during September of this period.

Died at Poonah, India, on the 30th of December 1864.

This would have been when the Regiment was waiting to embark for England.

Medals

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol, and the Turkish medal.

Mutiny medal without clasp. The medal roll shows him as "James Ferrall", but "Fussell" has been written under it.

Commemorations

Death & burial

Died at Poonah, India, on the 30th of December 1864.

This would have been when the Regiment was waiting to embark for England.
