Born in Manchester, c.1837.

Enlistment

Enlisted at Manchester on the 5th of January 1855.

Age: 18.

Height: 5' 5".

Trade: Labourer.

Service

Joined the regiment in the Crimea on the 14th of June 1855.

Tried by a Regimental Court-martial for "absence" on the 19th of October 1855. Awarded 25 lashes.

Deserted from Aldershot on the 16th of June and rejoined the regiment on the 9th of September 1858.

Discharge & pension

Discharged, "as a bad character", from Canterbury Depot on the 2nd of April 1859.

Medals

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol.

Not recorded by Lummis and Wynn.
