Birth & early life

Born at Whitechapel, London.

Enlistment

Enlisted at London on the 22nd of December 1852

Age:

Height: 5' 7".

Trade: Grocer.

Service

Embarked for the Crimea on the 4th of September 1855 and arrived in the Crimea at Balaclava as part of a draft of 50 men under the command of Lt. Robert MacNeill, on the 29th of September 1855. Served in Eupatoria.

"Absent" when on furlo from Dublin, 14 September 1858.

Rejoined from desertion on the 6th of February 1858, confined in a Military Prison from the 14th of February for 28 days.

"Absent without leave " from the 14th of September 1858 and shown as a deserter from the same day.

Can find no further trace to March 1867.

Medals

Entitled to Crimean medal without clasp and the Turkish Medal.

Not recorded by Lummis and Wynn.
