Born c.1834.

Enlistment

Enlisted at Brighton on the 13th of September 1852.

Age: 18.

Height: 5' 8".

Trade: None shown.

Service

Taken prisoner of war at Balaclava, 25th of October 1854, and probably died of his wounds soon after.

Medals

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasps for Alma, Balaclava and Sebastopol.

Commemorations

Death & burial

He is shown in the Casualty Lists as "Killed" at Balaklava, 25th October 1854, but is "Believed to have died whilst a prisoner of war. Date not known".

According to a letter from Lieutenant Chadwick, 17th Lancers, dated 2nd of April 1855:

"Of twelve men of the 17th Lancers who were taken prisoners on the same day that I was, five only are living....The seven dead [include Private] Harrison."
