Birth & early life

Born at Malpas, Cheshire.

Enlistment

Enlisted on the 25th of January 1855.

No other enlistment details are shown.

Service

Joined the regiment in the Crimea on the 7th of July 1855.

Sent to Scutari on the 10th of October and rejoined the regiment on the 31st of October 1855.

Tried by Court-martial at Cahir on the 17th of January 1857 for being "Absent, and losing his necessaries'. Sentenced to 112 days imprisonment with hard labour.

Discharge & pension

Discharged on the "Reduction of the Regiment", from Kilmainham on the 15th of December 1856.

Served 1 year 325 days.

Conduct: "good". Not in possession of any Good Conduct badges.

Medals

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol and the Turkish medal.

Not recorded by Lummis and Wynn.
