Born c.1833.

Enlistment

Enlisted at Liverpool on the 22nd of January 1855.

Age: 22.

Height: 5' 7".

Trade: None shown.

Service

Joined the regiment in the Crimea on the 13th of August 1855.

Is shown on a nominal roll of officers and men of the regiment at the Cavalry Depot, Scutari, made out on the 9th of November 1855, as being On Duty there from the 4th of November.From this he did not serve in Eupatoria with the regiment.

Transferred to the 7th Hussars on the 1st of September 1857. Regtl. No. 154.

Confined for "absence" from the 18th of February — 15th of March 1857.

From Private to Corporal, 16th of December 1857.

Tried by a Regimental Court-martial and reduced to Pte. on the 18th of April 1858.

Embarked for England aboard the "Tipnee" on the 9th of April 1860.

Discharge & pension

Discharged, "Invalided", from Chatham Invalid Depot on the 9th of August 1860.

Conduct: "good". Not in possession of any Good Conduct badges.

Served in the affairs of Baree, Korsee, and the action of Newabgungee.

Medals

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol and the Turkish medal.

Mutiny medal without clasp. His forename is given as "Joshua" on 7th Hussar medal roll.

Not recorded by Lummis and Wynn.
