Birth & early life

Born in Chelsea, London, c.1835.

Enlistment

Enlisted at Westminster on the 2nd of January 1854.

Age: 19.

Height: 5' 8".

Trade: Jeweller.

Features: Fresh complexion. Hazel eyes. Brown hair.

Service

Joined the regiment in the Crimea on the 20th of June 1855.

Transferred to the 12th Lancers at Cahir on the 12th of August 1855. Regimental No. 1851.

Discharge & pension

Discharged, "time expired," from Dublin on the 23rd of April 1866.

Conduct and character: "Indifferent." Not in possession of any Good Conduct badges.

Served in Central India under Sir Hugh Rose in the operations against Ghansi or Calpi or Gwalior, or under Major General's Roberts or Whitlock.

Medals

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol, and the Turkish medal.

Mutiny medal with clasp for Central India.
