Birth & early life

Born in the parish of St. Ann's, Dublin, c.1826.

Enlistment

Enlisted at Ballincollig on the 1st of May 1847.

Age: 21.

Height: 5' 7".

Trade: None shown.

Service

Embarked for the Crimea aboard the H.T. "Shooting Star" on the 25th of April 1854.

Embarked for India from Cork aboard the S.S. "Great Britain" on the 8th of October 1857.

Killed in action at Gwalior, India, on the 17th of June 1858.

Medals

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasps for Balaclava, Inkerman and Sebastopol.

Mutiny medal with clasp for Central India.

Served at Kotah and Gwalior.

The Returned Medal book states: "Crimean and Mutiny medals returned to the Mint. No trace of issue".

Death & burial

Killed in action at Gwalior, India, on the 17th of June 1858.
