Born at Brighton, Sussex.

[ August 2022: A considerable amount of info., including documents, to be added, from a descendant living in Wellington NZ, Rebecca Sellwood. His father was also in the regiment — Sergeant Major, fought at Waterloo.]

Enlisted at London on the 17th of November 1836.

Trade: Groom.

Pockthorpe Cavalry Barracks, Norwich.

William Knight, 33, Private, born Brighton.

Died, "in camp" on "Sebastopol Heights", on the 12th of October 1854.

Medals

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasps for Alma and Sebastopol, and the Turkish medal.
