Named as "Charles" Kearney on some rolls.
Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasps for Alma, Inkerman, Sebastopol and the Turkish medal.
The muster roll for the period states: "Two medals sent to Mr. Pennington."
The Returned medal book states: "Crimean and Turkish medals returned to the Mint. No trace of issue."
EJB: The "Mr. Pennington" named was a senior clerk at the War Office.
Died, "Whilst on furlo", on the 27th of April 1867.
