Born at Staines, Middlesex, c.1831.
Enlisted at Westminster on the 2nd of December 1849.

Trade: Labourer.
"Deserted" from Brighton on the 6th of July 1850 and rejoined the regiment on the 9th of August 1850.
Tried by a Regimental Court-martial and sentenced to 30 days imprisonment.
At the time of his desertion he was described as being of a fair complexion, grey eyes, and brown hair.
Embarked for the Crimea aboard the H.T. "Wilson Kennedy" on the 2nd of May 1854.
S erved in Lord Raglans Escort Troop during 1855.
Tried by a District Court-martial on the 26th of April 1855 for being "drunk on duty," and given 50 lashes.
Embarked for India from Cork aboard the S.S. "Great Britain" on the 8th of October 1857.
Died at Meerut, India, on the 12th of September 1862.
Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasps for Alma, Balaclava, Inkerman and Sebastopol.
Mutiny medal with clasp for Central India.
Served at Kotah and Gwalior.
The "Returned Medal Book" states, "Mutiny medal sent to the Mint." No trace of issue. The India Office medal roll however states, "Lost Mutiny medal replaced in 1884" [sic] but there is no indication as to whom it was sent.

The India Office records show him as dying at Meerut on the 12th of September 1862, aged 26 years 77 days. No cause of death is shown.
He was buried in the Roman Catholic Churchyard on the same day by the Revd. E. Varrella.
