1716, Private George LINDFIELD — 13th Light Dragoons

Birth & early life

Born at Lewes, Sussex, c.1834.

Enlistment

Enlisted at Brighton on the 14th of December 1854.

Age: 20.

Height: 5' 7".

Trade: Labourer.

Service

Joined the regiment in the Crimea on the 1st of August 1855.

He is shown on a nominal roll of officers and men of the regiment at the Cavalry Depot, Scutari, made out on the 9th of November 1855, as being On Duty there from the 24th of August.

In custody of the Civil Power 1st-30th of May 1858, the regiment being at various places in Scotland. (No reason for this can yet be found.)

Sent to the Depot at York when the regiment went to Canada. 1st of September 1866.

Discharge & pension

Discharged, "time expired", from Canterbury Depot on the 26th of January 1867.

Medals

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol and the Turkish medal.

Not recorded by Lummis and Wynn.
