Joined the regiment in the Crimea from Cork on the 16th of July 1855.
Transferred to the 12th Lancers at Cahir on the 12th of August 1856. Regimental No. 1839.
Served under Brigadier William Hill in the Bennar Field force from the 16th of November 1858 — 16th of March 1859. Also present at the battle of Chichumba on the 18th of January 1859.

Discharged, "Limited service expired", on the 12th of November 1866.
His 12th Lancer records state that he enlisted on the 13th of November 1854, and from his discharge date this would appear to have been the true one.
Conduct: "very good." In possession of two Good Conduct badges.
Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol, and the Turkish medal.
