Birth & early life

Born at Bramley, Yorkshire, c.1833.

Enlistment

He was a volunteer from the 2nd Battalion, East Yorks Militia, enlisting into the 8th Hussars at Sheffield on the 26th of December 1854.

Age: 21.

Height: 5' 6".

Trade: Shoe-maker.

Sallow complexion. Grey eyes. Lt. brown hair.

Service

Joined the regiment in the Crimea on the 15th of June 1855.

Transferred to the Military Train on the 31st of January 1857.

Deserted from Woolwich on the 12th of June 1857.

Can find no further trace to 1865.

Medals

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol.

Not recorded by Lummis and Wynn.
