Born at Athlone, Ireland, c.1828.

Enlistment

Enlisted at Longford on the 9th of March 1846.

Age: 17 years 9 months.

Height: 5' 7".

Trade: Groom.

Service

Embarked for the Crimea aboard the H.T. "Shooting Star" on the 23rd of April 1854.

Died "in Camp," at Balaclava on the 4th of October 1854.

Medals

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasps for Alma and Sebastopol.

A Crimean medal with these two clasps, engraved in upright serif capitals, was in a Hall's list for September of 1971.

The Returned Medal book states: "Crimean medal returned to the Mint. No trace of issue."

Death & burial

Died "in Camp," at Balaclava on the 4th of October 1854.
