A man of this surname (but no other details) is shown on a nominal roll of men of the regiment at the Cavalry Depot, Scutari, made out on the 9th of November 1855, and shows him as being On Duty there from the 24th of October.
Transferred to the 8th Hussars at Aldershot on the 1st of September 1857.
Embarked for India from Cork aboard the S.S. "Great Britain" on the 8th of 0ctober 1857.
Discharged from Dublin on the 26th of April 1870.
"Unfit for further service and the Reduction of the Army — General debility. Is the result of premature ageing and decay from the wear and tear of climate and military service. The disease will gradually interfere with his ability to earn a livelihood. Is not considered to have been caused by vice or his intemperance."
