Birth & early life

Born in York, c.1835.

Enlistment

Enlisted at Nottingham on the 17th of February 1853.

Age: 18.

Trade: 5' 7".

Trade: Labourer.

Service

Embarked for the Crimea aboard the H.T. "Medora" on the 27th of April 1857.

At Scutari General Hospital from the 22nd of September 1854 and sent to rejoin the regiment on the 11th of October.

Sent to Scutari again on the 21st of November 1854, where he died on the 4th of January 1855.

Medals

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasps for Balaclava, Inkerman and Sebastopol.

Death & burial

Died "in the General Hospital at Scutari" on the 4th of January 1855.
