Born in Scotland, c.1833.

Enlistment

Enlisted at Manchester on the 12th of January 1855.

Age: 22.

Height: 5' 6".

Trade: Labourer.

Service

Joined the regiment in the Crimea on the 14th of July 1855.

Transferred to the 2nd Dragoon Guards at Dundalk on the 31st of December 1856. Regimental No. 238.

Death & burial

Died at Lucknow, India, on the 8th of May 1858.

Medals

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol.

Mutiny medal with clasp for Lucknow.

The Returned medal book states: "Mutiny medal sent to the Mint. No trace of issue.

Not recorded by Lummis and Wynn.
