Enlisted at Lancaster on the 28th of December 1854.

Age: 19.

Height: 5' 7".

Trade: Labourer.

Service

Joined the regiment in the Crimea from Cork on the 15th of July 1855.

Discharge & pension

Discharged from Kilmainham on the 12th of January 1857 upon "Reduction of the Army and considered unfit for the duties of a soldier in consequence of Varicose. In no way attributable to his service, nor indeed by vice or intemperance."

Served 1 year 334 days.

In Turkey and the Crimea: 11 months.

Conduct: "good".

Not in possession of any Good Conduct badges.

Aged 21 years 10 months on discharge.

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol, and the Turkish medal.
