Birth & early life

Born at Tralee, Ireland.

Enlistment

Enlisted at Dublin on the 25th of January 1855.

Age: 19.

Height: 5' 7".

Trade: Smith.

Service

Joined the regiment in the Crimea on the 20th of June 1855.

Tried by a Regimental Court-martial on the 8th of October 1855 for "absence without leave." Given 50 lashes.

A nominal roll of men of the regiment at the Cavalry Depot, Scutari, made out on the 9th of November 1855, shows him as being On Duty there from the 24th of October.

Discharge & pension

Discharged on the "Reduction of the Regiment and his being "undersized", from Brighton on the 23 April 1856.

Served 2 years 56 days.

Conduct: "good". Not in possession of any Good Conduct badges,

Medals & commemorations

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol.

Not recorded by Lummis and Wynn.
