Birth & early life

Born in London.

Enlisted at London on the 21st of February 1852.

Age: 22.

Height: 5' 8".

Allowed to revert to his real name of "Richard Porter" on promotion to Sergeant on the 25th of August 1855.

Medals & commemorations

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasps for Alma, Inkerman. Sebastopol, and the Turkish medal.

Being shown on the medal roll for Alma and Inkerman as a Private, and on that for Sebastopol as a Sergeant, it is not clear as in which rank his medal is named, but was almost certainly in the name of "Richard Parker".
