Born at Chepstow.

Enlistment

Enlisted at Gloucester on the 18th of May 1841.

Age: 19.

Height: 5' 7".

Trade: Farmer.

Service

Embarked for the Crimea aboard the H.T. "Medora" on the 27th of April 1854. Died "in Camp" in the Crimea on the 4th of December 1854.

Next of kin: Mrs. Ann Prothero (relationship not stated, but presumably his wife), to whom he had sent money from the Crimea when she was living in Nottingham.

Medals & commemorations

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasps for Alma, Balaclava, Inkerman and Sebastopol.

Lummis and Wynn do not credit him with any medal or clasp entitlement.
