No other enlistment details apart from his trade as a wood-carver are shown.
Joined the regiment in the Crimea on the 9th of July 1855.
Tried by a Regimental Court-martial for "absence" on the 24th of September 1855, and given 50 lashes.
"Deserted" from Eupatoria on the 14th of January 1856.
Can find no further trace to 1865.
Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol and the Turkish medal.
Lummis and Wynn state, "Name does not appear on the medal roll", but he is actually shown on this.
