Tried by a District Court-martial at Ipswich on the 12th of July 1852 for "disobedience of orders" and sentenced to 112 days' imprisonment with hard labour, and stoppage of pay.
Killed in action at Balaclava.

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasps for Alma, Balaclava and Sebastopol.
