1282, Corporal Edward SEABROOKE — 11th Hussars

Birth & early life

Born at Sunningdale, Berkshire.

Enlistment

Enlisted at Coventry on the 14th of July 1846.

Age: 20.

Height: 5' 9".

Trade: Servant.

Service

1851 Census

Pockthorpe Cavalry Barracks, Norwich.

Edward Seabrook [sic], aged 24, unmarried, Soldier, Private, born Sunningdale, Berks.

From Private to Corporal: 6th of March 1852.

Reduced to Private by a Regimental Court-martial on the 8th of May 1854.

Private to Corporal 26th of October 1854,

Died "at Camp Kadikoi" on the 24th of May 1855, aged 29 years.

Buried in the 11th Hussar Cemetery on the road between Kadikoi and Karani. (See copy of memorial inscription in the 11th Hussar file.) This was on a separate tablet, most of the others buried there being on a combined one.

Medals

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasps for Alma, Inkerman and Sebastopol.
