Birth & early life

Born in Leeds.

Enlistment

Enlisted at Liverpool on the 19th of December 1854.

Age: 20.

Height: 5' 7".

Trade: Shoe-maker.

Service

Joined the regiment in the Crimea on the 25th of May 1855.

He is shown on a nominal roll made out at the Cavalry Depot, Scutari, on the 9th of November 1855 as having been On Duty there from the 22nd of September.

"Deserted" from Birmingham on the 11th of January 1860.

Can find no further trace to March of 1865.

Medals & commemorations

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol.
