Born at Birmingham.

Enlistment

Enlisted at Birmingham by the 3rd Light Dragoons for the 4th on the 4th of January 1855.

Age: 23.

Height: 5' 5".

Trade: Brick-maker.

Service

Joined the regiment in the Crimea on the 20th of June 1855.

Invalided to England on the 23rd of January 1856.

Discharge & pension

Discharged on the "Reduction of the Regiment," from Brighton on the 24th of November 1856.

Served 1 year 324 days.

Conduct: "good". Not in possession of any Good Conduct badges.

Medals & commemorations

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol.

Not recorded by Lummis and Wynn.

Further information

A Crimean medal, named to him, and with the single clasp for Sebastopol, was known to be in an English collection in 1981. It is said to have been obtained from the family, but no other details are known.
