Born in London.

Enlistment

Enlisted at London on the 9th of September 1854.

Age: 20.

Height: 5' 7".

Trade: Groom.

Service

Joined the regiment in the Crimea on the 28th of April 1855.

A nominal roll of men of the regiment at the Cavalry Depot, Scutari, made out on the 9th of November 1855, shows him as being On Duty there from the 19th of October.

Transferred to the 3rd Dragoon Guards on the 1st of March 1857. Regimental No. 315.

He is shown as "Shorney" on the 3rd Dragoon Guard muster rolls.

Discharge & pension

Discharged, "time expired", from Canterbury on the 10th of October 1866.

Medals & commemorations

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol.

Not recorded by Lummis and Wynn.
