Birth & early life

Born at Colchester.

Enlistment

Enlisted at London on the 7th of January 1853.

Age: 17 years 11 months.

Height: 5' 7".

Trade: French-polisher.

Tried by Court-martial at Brighton on the 17th of January 1857 for "Desertion and losing his necessaries'. Sentenced to 84 days imprisonment and stoppages.

Transferred to the 18th Hussars at Aldershot on the 1st of March 1858. Regimental No. 366.

"On furlo" from the 1st of January — 31st of March 1859.

Discharge & pension

Discharged as "Unfit" from Colchester on the 31st of March 1859.

Medals & commemorations

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasps for Alma, Inkerman and Sebastopol.

Life after service
