Birth & early life

Born at East Grinstead, Sussex, and christened at West Hoathly, Sussex, the son of George and Fanny Styles, on the 20th of February 1833.

Enlistment

Enlisted at Westminster on the 2nd of January 1851.

Age: 18.

Height: 5' 8".

Trade: Labourer.

Service

Embarked for the Crimea aboard the H.T. "Medora" on the 27th of April 1854. Died "of diarrhoea" in the General Hospital at Scutari on the 19th of January 1855.

Medals & commemorations

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasps for Alma, Balaclava, Inkerman, and Sebastopol.
