The 1881 Census Returns show him as living at No. 2 Child Street, Kensington, London, a Whitesmith (un-employed) aged 51, born at Bristol, with his wife, Jane, aged 49, born in Kensington, London and his Mother -in Law, Jane Woods, an Annuitant, aged 80 and also born in Kensington.
