Bith & early life

Enlistment

Enlisted at Newark on the 6th of December 1854.

Age: 19. Height,. 5' 6".

Trade: None shown.

Service

Joined the regiment in the Crimea on the 25th of May 1855.

Re-engaged at Colchester for 12 years further service on the 21st of June 1866.

Death & burial

Died at Muttra, India, on the 5th of September 1871.

The India Office records show him as having died from "Delirum Tremens" at Meerut on the 5th of September 1871, aged 37 years.

He was buried on the following day by the Revd. D. Fynes-Clinton. Chaplain.

Medals & commemorations

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol.

Not recorded by Lummis and Wynn.
